Compared to most social mediums, LinkedIn stands out as the most professional by far. The platform also stands out for another reason: getting good engagement and views on your content feels impossible. Most people would be thrilled to receive even 10 reactions to their post. Why does the most business oriented online meeting place seem to be the most useless for your business? But LinkedIn does not have to be a fruitless endeavor. Just follow the plan below and start finally putting your LinkedIn to work.

Become the Buyer's Agent
The goal here is to get connected with as many current and future home buyers as possible. Just follow these 3 steps to fill your account with potential leads...
Step One:
Maximize Connections - LinkedIn allows you to request 200 new connections each week. Don't be shy, reach out to anyone who has mutual connections with you (and pay attention to their residence to make sure you are licensed for real estate there). Even if someone doesn't know you, there's a great chance they'll connect anyway!
Unless you pay for LinkedIn Premium (Unnecessary but helpful) your ability to search for connections is limited. To work around this, click on "Manage My Network", scroll all the way down until you see "More Suggestions for you" and connect away!

Step Two:
Put Yourself Out There - Message every new connection thanking them for connecting and letting them know if they ever need any real estate service you would love to represent them. Feel free to include one line promoting why they should go with you, but keep it casual. Here is a sample:
"Hey Ty, thanks for connecting! If you ever need a realtor to represent you, I would love to help you out. I've been able to consistently help my homebuyers negotiate way under asking in todays market. Take care!"
Step Three:
Keep Your Eyes Open - Back to the "Manage My Network" page to find your new golden goose: "Celebrations". Tap it to see job changes, work anniversaries, promotions, etc. This is your new list to DM, updated daily courtesy of LinkedIn. In most cases, your connections listed here are announcing an exciting life change that involves a pay increase. What this means for you is they might be considering buying their first home, or a nicer home in the very near future.
Simply send them a congratulatory message, and remind them that if they every need a realtor to represent them, you would love the opportunity.
